These nesting pads arrive as a six-pack of 10x10 in squares intended for small chicken coops and nesting boxes. The coconut coir construction gives the pads a fibrous, mat-like surface that sits inside the box and provides a defined spot for laying hens to settle. The compact square size suits smaller nest openings and small animal nesting setups.
Coconut coir is the material behind the pads' absorbent and odor-reducing role. The fibers are meant to take up moisture and help limit ammonia buildup in the coop, which can matter in enclosed nesting areas with limited airflow. The same fibrous texture cushions the nest floor, offering a layer between eggs and the hard box surface.
Because the pads are preformed squares, they drop into a nesting box without loose bedding to scatter or pack down. The six-count pack allows rotation, so a soiled pad can be swapped for a fresh one while the coop stays in use. Sizing at 10x10 in makes them best suited to compact boxes rather than large communal nests.
